Friday First | Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer

Thank you, TK Maxx for two things; 1. Finally allowing me to finally get my hands on the Shadow Insurance from Too Faced, and 2. Ruining photos forever with your security tape.

For me, Shadow Insurance is just as famous as the Primer Potion from Urban Decay, and it's been high on my wishlist for a long time. Shadow Insurance promises to "lock down eye shadow and intensify colour", ensuring that all eye looks remain "crease-proof, fade-proof and waterproof for up to 24 hours". As well as all of this Shadow Insurance also "neutralizes any lid discolouration" all in "a bead-sized drop" (!

So, after lusting after Shadow Insurance for so long did it live up to my expectations? I have to say it did, and I really like how it made my eye makeup look the night I used it. My eyeshadows blended like a dream over this, and seemed so much more pigmented! Note self; when using Shadow Insurance go in with a really light hand, that light brown is a lot deeper than it seems! Naturally, I first put shadow insurance to the test on a night out, so if it was going to fail anywhere it would definitely fail on me in Key Club. My eye makeup stayed put all night long, in fact when I got home many hours later my makeup still looked exactly how it had when I'd gone out! I haven't yet tried out Shadow Insurance with my glitter primers, but I do have some new glitters to play with and I have high hopes!

Will I continue to use Too Faced's Shadow Insurance Primer? Definitely, when I need my eye makeup to last and remain perfect this will be used. I don't think I'll be using it on a daily basis, purely because I don't need it daily even when I'm using eyeshadow daily. But it's definitely an occasion piece for me!
Will I repurchase Too Faced's Shadow Insurance Primer? For £17 I most likely will, I really did like the results that it gave me. Too Faced is slowly becoming one of my favourite brands, and using Better Than Sex on a daily basis means I'm often at the Too Faced stand having a look at what else they've got for me to play with!
Would I recommend Too Faced's Shadow Insurance Primer? Definitely! If you're looking for something to really make your eye makeup pop then pick this up and give it a go. I know you could argue that concealer could do the same thing, but for me, concealer just creases too easily.
Overall score out of 5? A 4. This made my eyes pop, although it made some eyeshadows more pigmented than I'd ever expected and I had to restart my whole eye look. However, my eye makeup stayed in place all night long and still looked perfect, so I'll definitely be reaching for this more and more!
