Friday First | L'Oreal Paris Lash Paradise Mascara

So I'm almost a hypocrite with this review, the other week I was writing about how hype often causes us to go out and buy products without really looking into them. But when it comes to Lash Paradise, I've already heard so many mixed reviews I just had to try it out for myself to see what was really going on.

Now I've been seeing people all over Twitter talking about how they've been struggling to get hold of this mascara because it's been sold out everywhere. To be honest, I didn't spend weeks looking for it, and when I finally did pop into Boots to see if it was there for me to grab there were plenty on the shelf for people to grab and try out.

So L'Oreal promise that Lash Paradise will give you "intense volume and spectacular length, with a feather-soft feel", which a huge 90% of 107 saw! Lash Paradise promises to deliver this volume and length due to a "ultra-soft brush [that] coats lashes" with the "silky smooth formula, enriched with a lash-loving castor oil" all designed to make "lashes feel feather-soft, without any flaking" (

Let's start out with the positives of Lash Paradise. It delivers on the no flaking promise, for the first time in a long time I've found a mascara that didn't flake under my eyes and didn't transfer to my brow bone. That's probably where the positives end, spoiler. While sat in the train station waiting to come home I opened up Lash Paradise so I could have a quick look at the packaging and most importantly for me the brush. Jesus, the packaging is just awful. Can someone tell me why the UK version of this is so tacky and cheap? But I also immediately got Better Than Sex wanna be vibes, which were confirmed even more so when I looked at the brush. I've seen plenty of people claiming that it's a Better Than Sex dupe, but I'm not even opening the gate to that path. Now, I'm not sure where I was meant to see this volume and length because all I got were wet lashes that just clumped beyond fixing. I'm totally putting this down due to the mascara containing oil because every mascara I've tried that's been enriched with oil have just clumped and been a nightmare to work with. It's also just awful to remove, even with my Mascara Melt Off. I even used my Pixi Double Cleanser and really worked the oil into my lashes, and even that took some work to remove Lash Paradise.

Will I continue to use L'Oreal's Lash Paradise? Definitely not. For the first time in a long time, I've actually written a review before I took my photos, meaning I saved the tube just to photograph before throwing it out. I used Lash Paradise twice before I stopped reaching for it, and I had to physically stop myself reaching for it because I was desperate to make it work.
Will I repurchase L'Oreal's Lash Paradise? Good, god no. For £10 it's shit. I'm currently using my Better Than Sex mascara, but I will always swear by my Natural Collection mascara that is £1.99. I've never been 100% certain I've wasted my money quicker than I was as soon as I applied Lash Paradise.
Would I recommend L'Oreal's Lash Paradise? Definitely no. If you're looking for a Better Than Sex dupe then just carry on looking, this is not it. If you're looking to try it out because of all the hype, then just walk on by. If you love wet mascaras then this could be a perfect formula for you. And if you love the 3 lash look then this will definitely be for you.
Overall score out of 5? A 2. Lash Paradise doesn't but at all, even to the point that I'm pretty sure I can't remove it all in one wash and I have to make my eyes sore removing this. That's where it ends. For £10 the packagaing is cheap, the mascara doesn't live up to claims or all the hype and it clumps like there is no tomorrow.
