Am I late to the party, or have I actually been testing out these products so I'm not just describing the colours to you...?

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
So, like any other Disney fan out there my mind was blown when I heard that Colourpop were releasing a Disney Designer Collection. I'd never ordered from Colourpop before, but I was determined that I would be getting my hands on this collection. Amazingly I only missed out on two things that I wanted, and I managed to grab the It's A Princess Thing Shadow Palette, five Super Shock Shadows, and two Crème Lux Lipsticks.

So let's start with the It's A Princess Thing Pressed Powder Shadow Palette, if I'm being honest I haven't actually seen that many people talking about this. I don't know if people went more for the Super Shock Shadows over this, but I personally knew that I would be wanting this alongside the Super Shock Shadows as I knew this would be super easy to work with and with the colours in this palette I knew I could work with this on a daily basis. Colourpop promise that "these soft romantic shades will add a touch of glam to any look to make you photo-ready", and I find the colours are really pigmented, blend like a dream and a super buildable. In fact second look is entirely made from the palette alone, and the first and third look were made using the palette as my main base. I do find the colours a little chalky, and they do have a little fall out in the palette, but a little tap of your brush before applying these to your eyes and you have nothing to worry about. I currently can't live without Chip, Grumpy or Triton...
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
For me, the Super Shock Shadows are a shadow that I use to build a look and I always add these on top of another shadow. Colourpop describes their Super Shock Shadows as the "revolutionary creme-powder eyeshadow" so naturally I picked up the colours Be Our Guest, A Whole New World, Under The Sea, So This Is Love and Heigh-Ho. I find these apply really easily, they can be built up really easily and the glitter and metallic aspect to these is quite subtle which always adds a nice pop to an eye look.

We then have the two Crème Lux Lipsticks that I picked up; that Colourpop has "enriched with [their] LUX blend of hydrating butters... [which] glide[s] on the lips for intense pigmentation in shades made for every skin tone". I grabbed the Shades Ariel and Belle, now I'd have loved Snow White but I think everyone else grabbed her before me so never mind. Ariel is my much more everyday shade, as you can see in the first pictures the browns and oranges seem to pull on me which is quite apt, and Belle is definitely a shade to be worn on a night out. Both of these lipsticks glide on like a dream, however they never really dry down, so they transfer onto everything which is a little bit of a nightmare and you need to make sure you take these with you so you can keep reapplying these.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Another product that I should have picked up in America, but I didn't grab until it was available on Beauty Bay...

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Let's face it, L.A. Girl is a brand that is always highly recommended when you ask what you need to buy when out in America. If I'm being totally honest, I can't really remember seeing L.A. Girl while I was out in Florida, and the bits I did see seemed totally the wrong colour for me, but as soon L.A. Girl became available on Beauty Bay I flew straight for it and picked up a few bits from them; mainly knowing that I wanted to try out the PRO.matte Foundation.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I've recently found a couple of foundations that work really well for me, so testing out a new foundation isn't the highest of priority on my list and colour matching can always be a little bit of a nightmare; I usually need the lightest shade available, but usually the lightest shade is also the pinkest shade, not helpful when you have slight yellow undertones... I picked up Ivory, which is described as being <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">"for fair skin tones" so let's see. The PRO.matte foundation states that it "offers medium to full coverage", and that it has "added vitamin E, B5 and sunflower oil" so there should be something good in there for my skin. L.A. Girl promise that the formula of the PRO.matte foundation is "smooth and buildable", and promises that it will also "glide[s] onto the skin for a smooth and suede-like finish". Claiming to be "effortlessly blendable" PRO.matte Foundation states to be perfect "for both day and night wear, and minimise the appearance of pores and fine lines" (www.lagirlcosmetics.co.uk).

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Let's start with the colouring of the foundation; it's a very pale foundation and it's definitely made for fair skin tones, L.A. Girl are not lying in that respect, and there isn't a pink undertone in sight! The coverage this provides is brilliant, one pump of this foundation goes a really long way and it's incredibly buildable; I can get a really natural medium look with this, but then I can also step it up to a full coverage full glam look. I'm not sure if it's a point of the foundation, or if it's just due to the packaging but this foundation is super cool when it's applied to the face and it's so soothing; also when this is set with my Soap & Glory setting powder my whole face feels like velvet and it's wonderful.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Will I continue to use L.A. Girl's PRO.matte Foundation? I'm currently reaching for this in between my Double Wear, and this is slowly becoming the foundation I reach for when I want a natural, daily look. It lasts really well, I really enjoy how it looks on my skin and I absolutely love how it feels.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Will I repurchase L.A. Girl's PRO.matte Foundation? For £10 I'd be stupid not to really. A few pumps does my entire face with no concerns, and I feel this bottle is going to last me a while. The colour matches me perfectly, and it lasts amazingly.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Would I recommend L.A. Girl's PRO.matte Foundation? Definitely. For £10 you can't go wrong with this foundation from L.A. Girl. They also have plenty of other formulas of their foundations, so if you don't require the PRO.matte then I'm sure there is one for you. I really like how the foundation is infused with goodness for your skin, so no wonder it feels so good when it's applied!

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Overall score out of 5? A 4. This foundation matches me perfectly and applies like a dream. My skin feels like absolute velvet, and the foundation lasts on my skin throughout the day without me having to worry about me having to powder. Currently, I am finding that it does cling onto my dry patches on my skin, but it doesn't look too obvious, so we can forgive it for that.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I need to jump into this brow game, but I still forget to do my brows... Ugh.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
Sometimes it feels like you can't be into makeup, or you can't put on a full face without having to do something to your eyebrows. Which is fine; although I don't really do a lot with mine, they're quite naturally thick with the shape I already want and they're already quite dark... I've never picked up an eyebrow pencil in my life and not felt like I've drawn slugs onto my face.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Although my brows can look quite put together when left natural and a bit of clear setting gel, I do want something that gives them a more put together look and fills in those small areas where I could do with just a bit more colour, but they still need to look natural... Everyone and their mother goes on about the Archery Brow Pencil from Soap & Glory, but I stumbled across this one; the Archery Crayon with a setting gel included.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Soap & Glory simply describe the Archery Crayon as<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> "an angled crayon for precise filling and sculpting" (www.soapandglory.com). The coverage is fairly natural, but can be built up really easily; I find the strokes that the crayon gives also look quite natural compared to some that I've seen. Now the setting gel does exactly what it needs to do, it will hold your brows in place all day long, but it doesn't dry down heavy or feel weird. I still don't find myself reaching for this daily, but when I do I really enjoy the look that it helps me to create.

I'll admit it, I don't actually understand what half of my products from The Ordinary actually do...

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I wish I had a good story to explain how and why I managed to pick up a product from The Ordinary that I can barely pronounce on a good day, let alone understand what it actually does for my skin... I believe I was just browsing The Ordinary on Beauty Bay while looking for a specific product I'd been recommended and this stood out because it just looked so interesting.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">So let's look at this L-Ascorbic Acid Powder and exactly what it is meant to do for me. Without getting too deep into it, because quite frankly I still don't really understand this product either; The Ordinary state that the "L-Ascorbic Acid Powder... provides the most direct exposure of extremely high concentrations of Vitamin C" already lost and confused? The Ordinary state that "Vitamin C is an effective antioxidant that brightens the skin tone and reduces the appearance of signs of ageing", and promises that their L-Ascorbic Acid Powder will "visibly target[s] the appearance of uneven skin tone, dullness and signs of ageing". So now comes the skincare bit that I just do not understand; The Ordinary do state that you will experience "a very strong tingling, but non-irritating sensation" but that this should disappear "1-2 weeks [after] use. until the skin's tolerance... is elevated". The Ordinary also state that you can mix the L-Ascorbic Acid Powder "with other treatments in the palm of your hand" however, they do suggest that you avoid treatments "Niacinamide or EUK 134"? Basically, I have no idea what products I should avoid mixing this with, but after reading reviews and seeing people complaining of it turning moisturisers into a rust colour The Ordinary have confirmed that this is what happens if you mix the powder with those fancy little things (theordinary.com). Is it just me that's confused?

Okay, let's jump into this weird little pot of powder. I'm really interested in adding Vitamin C into my skincare routine, but it's usually stupidly expensive so this is a really affordable way of doing this. Now, this strong tingling is what we need to address first. My god, it's real, and it will find an area you didn't even realise was open believe me. The L-Ascorbic Acid Powder does come with a little scoop, which I assume is for you to get the right amount of powder to mix each time; but if they want you to build your exposure over a 1-2 week period I don't know if I'm meant to still be using the same amount or? I haven't personally experienced any of my moisturisers, or anything on my face turning a rust colour, so obviously I've avoided what I should, but warning. I haven't worked out what, but something on my hands does react with this after I've applied this in my moisturiser, and if I'm not careful I look like I've got really bad fake tan looking palms. So, has it done anything for my skin? If I'm being truthful I don't think I'm using this enough to actually see an effect from it yet; I find it really fiddly to use and it's a bit of a pain. I also find that when I apply this with my moisturiser then I feel like I have a film over my face throughout the night and my face will feel incredibly tight. Also, oh my god the taste and the smell that this powder adds to anything will last for days, no matter how many times you wash your hands or face.

Will I continue to use The Ordinary's 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder? I'm struggling with this one if I'm honest. I feel it's an extra step to my barely there night routine that I just don't need, and I tend to do my skincare upstairs in my bedroom and I don't often want to go back downstairs to wash my hands to avoid fake tan palms... I really do want to get this jar used up though so it might take me a while.

Will I repurchase The Ordinary's 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder? Not at all. I feel there are going to be easier ways to introduce Vitamin C into my skincare routine without having to play around with a powder, that I don't actually understand. I also don't feel it's adding anything else to my skin that my current products aren't already...

Would I recommend The Ordinary's 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder? I personally wouldn't. Did anyone actually understand what The Ordinary was saying this powder was meant to do? I don't like the idea of the little scoop with no real instructions, do I build exposure just by using this or... Someone help me here.

Overall score out of 5? A 1. This product has given me fake tan looking palms far too many times, and I cannot work out what reacts with this. The smell and the taste are something else, and when it's all over your face you just can't escape that. Also, I don't want to have to have a science degree to feel that I can understand my skincare.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
Probably because I actually live out of my Heat Palette nearly every single day when I do a full face of makeup at this time of year, and sometimes no matter what time of year it is I crave a bright eye and I crave a pop of colour on my eyeballs.

Another hyped product, but is it really worth it?

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">A few months ago when I went to the Let's Talk Beauty Event at Debenhams, I knew there would be a few pieces that I definitely wanted to pick up and finally get my hands on; and the Moisture Surge from Clinique was definitely one on my list. Clinique's Moisture Surge is always a moisturiser that I'm recommended when I ask for what moisturiser I should be using and trying out.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">We all know how much I say that when it comes to moisturising that I'm trying to add as much moisture as I can back into my combination skin, so on paper Moisture Surge should be a match made in heaven for me. <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Moisture Surge promises that it "works for all skin types" and that it "helps skin create its own internal water source", already sounds like magic doesn't it? Clinique promise that Moisture Surge "keeps [skin] almost twice as hydrated" and "works nonstop for 72 hours... even after washing your face", Moisture Surge claims to do this by providing "both immediate and long-term hydration". Clinique even promises that Moisture Surge helps with the outside world and will help "skin to adjust to shifts in humidity and temperature" and "protect against environmental damage". As well as all of this, Moisture Surge contains the two magic ingredients Aloe Water and Hyaluronic Acid, so currently what isn't to love (www.clinique.co.uk)?

So where on earth do we start with all of that? Let's start with the immediate and long-term hydration; immediately yes, every time I used Moisture Surge I would feel results and my makeup would apply perfectly, but I can't say I saw any long-term results. Which leads me onto the fact that I can't say I saw anything working for 72 hours, and my skin felt just as dry as it usually would after washing it and at night it was crying out for it's usual moisturiser. In fact, I originally started using Moisture Surge at night as I thought this would allow my skin to really soak in everything it wanted from Moisture Surge, but this gave me nothing so applying it in the morning before my makeup at least gave me some kind of immediate result. I would have to say that Moisture Surge does appear to have helped my skin adjust to the change in humidity though. Usually, at this time of year my skin is drying out cause it can't cope with how cold it suddenly becomes, but this year and since using Moisture Surge it seems to be coping a lot better. I'm super gutted that I don't seem to love this like everyone else does and I just don't seem to get anything from this.

Will I continue to use Clinique's Moisture Surge? As I'm writing this review I've actually finished my jar of Moisture Surge if that doesn't show you just how desperate I was to love this and make it work for me.

Will I repurchase Clinique's Moisture Surge? For £24 for the smallest jar, hell no. It didn't do anything for my skin that my usual moisturiser doesn't do for me, other than help it cope with the humidity and temperature change. I didn't fall in love with it enough to justify that spend again.

Would I recommend Clinique's Moisture Surge? I'm really on the fence about this one. I don't feel Moisture Surge did anything for my skin moisture-wise, but I feel that it definitely helped my skin with the humidity and temperature change I'm not currently a dry, flaky mess. I'd say try it out if you're curious, but equally, I wouldn't rush out. If it's not top of your list, I'd say try other things first.

Overall score out of 5? A 2. Moisture wise, it's done nothing for my skin. The only thing I've noticed is I'm not a dry, flaky mess and it's helped my skin cope with the humidy and temperature change. I don't understand why my skin didn't seem to love this like everyone else seems to. Just what is wrong with my face?

Cath Kidston you are determined to ruin my bank account...

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
Another day, another Disney x Cath Kidston collection, and as soon as I got the email teasing this collection I knew it was going to hit my bank account hard. Snow White has always been one of my favourite princesses, I mean she's the original, but she's also my Mum's favourite so I was going to be hit doubly hard.

Let's run through what I got, but I could just stare at these pieces all day long... Look how pretty they are! Starting with the Snow White Forest Scene iPhone Phone Case, I grabbed the Tinkerbell phone case from the Peter Pan range and I love how these fit the phone and the number of conversations the falling glitter starts is amazing. However, I have noticed that Cath Kidston seemed to have slimmed the phone case down since the Tinkerbell one, and this one is definitely a lot more comfortable to hold.

Moving onto the Snow White Fairest One of All Mug, how could you blame me and who wouldn't? Quite simply. I then grabbed the Snow White Scene Continental Wallet for my Mum; she's been desperate for one of the bigger Cath Kidston purses for so long, but never found a design that she liked, so as soon as I saw this I knew I had to buy it for her... I also don't think she'd have ever forgiven me if I'd have left her out. I obviously had to grab a purse for myself; in fact the purse that sits in my handbag now was a present for my 18th birthday so I think it's definitely time to update it; naturally I grabbed the Snow White Scattered Blossom Leather Continental Wallet, but it's always out of stock so I can't link you! Finally, and purely in a bid to make myself drink more when I'm at work, I grabbed the Snow White Apples and Spot Lanyard Water Bottle; I'll report back on how successful this is!

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">"Is there anything that you would find too offensive for us to send to you?" Not at all, and companies that totally wear their hearts on their sleeves are very much becoming my favourite currently. I saw on Twitter that PNKLETTUCE were looking for bloggers to work with, and as soon as I saw the jewellery that they made I knew that even if I didn't work with them that I'd be buying something from them. However, the amazing guys over at PNKLETTUCE have sent me over this beautiful cuff to review for you all!*
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">PNKLETTUCE describe their jewellery as "cuss jewellery" and honestly, nothing could be further up my street. PNKLETTUCE are a company that makes "hand stamped" jewellery, and promise that every item "may look slightly different to the website" but that "this is completely intentional!" Don't forget to look at the cuff I received here and everything else you can buy on PNKLETTUCE.

Now, a cuff isn't the usual style of bracelet I'd go for because I personally don't think they suit my tiny wrists. Although, I have to admit that the cuff I received from PNKLETTUCE is quite dainty, and quite happily slides up and down my arm and it is super comfy to wear. I love the look the lettering has, being hand stamped and you can easily make it your size by "squeezing it together or stretching it out". Most of the jewellery on offer can be bought in either gold or silver, and some even have the option of rose gold... Girls, go wild (pnklettuce.com)!

Will I actually purchase anything from PNKLETTUCE? I've already been on their site getting ideas for gifts for people that I know love to swear just as much as me. I've got a few more pieces in mind that I want to own myself.

Would I recommend PNKLETTUCE? Definitely, everyone must know by now how much I love a small, independent shop. The fact that the jewellery is hand stamped, so every item has a different finish is totally up my street and adds just that little bit more character to the item. Also, who doesn't want a bracelet that tells everyone to be aware that they're a bitch?

The bargain of the century, and the multi-use palette I'm reaching for every single day...

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
I didn't even know this palette existed until I was hovering at the Urban Decay counter in Debenhams a few months ago and spied this little beauty with a special price of just £15 for the special event that was on... I mean, how is a girl to refuse that? Urban Decay is a brand I'm slowly growing a love for, I haven't actually really tried a lot of their face products but this palette definitely holds enough shades for me to justify trying out.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">So the Sin Afterglow Highlighter Palette contains six shades, four of which I definitely will be reaching for till the end of time; the other two, well I don't contour so unless I can somehow use them on my eyes they'll sit there untouched... Urban Decay state that this palette was inspired by their original Afterglow Blush and Highlighter and that the whole palette contains<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> "our legendary Afterglow formula". Urban Decay promise that their "formula feels super soft, blends easily and lasts 8 hours". Urban Decay has even gone as far as to organise all the "blush shades in the top row" and all the "highlighter shades in the bottom row" (www.urbandecay.co.uk).

My two most used shades out of this entire palette are Kiss Off; the soft rose-pink newly created blush and Sin; the "holy-grail" pale nude shimmer with gold shift highlight, and Jesus isn't Sin that blinding highlight that every girl craves? On those days when I'm wanting a much more natural highlight then I reach for Spotlight; another newly created light peach with gold shimmer shift highlight shade. And on those days where I need a little more punch of colour in my face then Score comes into play; the medium pink-peach blush with a touch of shimmer. Now, I don't think I'll be trying out Paranoid at all; described as a medium bronze blush with a gold shimmer I think it's more designed for a contour than a blush, but still, I don't contour. I swore I'd never be touching PSA; the newly created bronzy rose-gold highlight shade, but doesn't that description sound divine enough to just sway anyone? So, next time you're wondering what's on my face and if I've blinded you with my highlight, I'm really sorry, it's probably Urban Decay.

If I don't soon have a new face with all this skincare, then I'm doing something wrong...

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I've lost track of the number of times I've told you now how my skin has changed in the recent years; I still have very oily, combination skin; but what has changed are the spots I'm dealing with and how they heal up. In the past few years, I'm finding that I'm having to deal with a lot more redness, and a lot more under the surface spots that never really come to anything, and a lot more dry skin in areas that are totally unnecessary and naturally, really unhelpful. I've used rose on my skin before and it helped to an extent, but it can also be super expensive to use on a daily basis...
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I turned to Mario Badescu, they've recently introduced some saviours into my routine and they didn't let me down by having their Rose Hips Nourishing Oil for me to try. Described as "a lightweight, quickly absorbed facial oil" that is "designed to reduce flakiness and surface dehydration" this is everything I've been looking for in a bottle right? Obviously containing rose, the oil "has antiseptic properties" also handy for someone like me who also has a really bad habit of picking at their face... Mario Badescu promise that the Rose Hips Oil is "suitable for combination, dry and sensitive skin types", as well as being "very gently and non-irritating" you simply add "add a few drops... under your moisturiser" and you should start to see the difference in your skin (www.beautybay.com).
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Now I always use this before I go to bed, in my head if I use it at night it allows it to work its magic overnight... I'm not really sure why it couldn't do that during the day though? Anyway, it's definitely a facial oil that is absorbed incredibly quickly, you can feel it being absorbed into your skin as you're applying it, so if you are someone who likes to apply your oils in the morning before your makeup you'll have no issues applying your makeup on top of this. I've been using this on a daily basis since I've had it, and I've barely made a dent in the bottle, which considering they recommend you use 4-5 drops is incredible! I've used it during some times of my skin being particularly bad and I can hand on heart say that I've not felt any irritation in my skin, and I have noticed my skin healing up quicker. I wouldn't say that the dry patches to my skin have reduced, but the amount of flakiness and the size of the dry patches that I'm dealing with have definitely reduced.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

Will I continue to use Mario Badescu's Rose Hips Nourishing Oil? I'm currently using this daily and I'm yet to make a significant dent in the bottle, so I'll be using this forevermore I think. I personally really like what rose oil brings to my skin and just how it does help.

Will I repurchase Mario Badescu's Rose Hips Nourishing Oil? I originally didn't think I would be for £18, but considering I've barely made a dent and I've been using this daily for nearly two months now, I think I'll definitely be repurchasing this one; it's definitely proved that it's worth its money!

Would I recommend Mario Badescu's Rose Hips Nourishing Oil? Definitely. I know rose oil isn't for everyone and their skin type, but this is unlike any other facial oil I've ever used in the past. It sinks in quickly, and I can feel my face soaking up the goodness from it. If you're looking for a facial oil that will help with skin tone, dry skin, flakiness then don't overlook this one.

Overall score out of 5? A 4. It hasn't fixed all of my skin issues, but it's definitely improved them. It doesn't break my own, and it didn't make my skin sensitive. I've used this oil when I've been experiencing a really bad breakout, and I've had some really bad patches on my face that everything else just irritated, but the Rose Hips Oil soothed it and has defiitely soothed and calmed my skin in general.

I'm 24, and Alan Titchmarsh already has a lot to answer for...

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
Secrets of the National Trust is one of my guilty pleasures, but never at the age of 24 did I think I'd be really excited to watch Alan Titchmarsh on my TV screen. Thanks to Alan opening my eyes and really showing us where the money from the National Trust memberships goes to, I didn't think twice when I bought Mum and Dad a joint membership for their anniversary, and myself a membership!

So the other week we finally put our memberships to the use and off we went to Hardwick Hall; obviously me and Mum had a little bit of knowledge from watching Secrets of the National Trust, I'm sure everyone saw the carpet that needed to be watered... but no one ever prepares you for just how much of amazing woman Bess of Hardwick was, the legacy she created and the absolutely amazing features to this house.

Also, a really nice touch that I found was that currently Hardwick Hall has a Suffragette movement that runs throughout the house, and invites people to get involved! It's a great way to introduce the Suffragette movement to younger visitors, and a really interesting touch is how they allow you to pick a specific person at Hardwick Hall and you follow their journey as you move throughout the house. So, I think it's time to plan a lot more National Trust adventures!

Can you tell I picked up a load of Clinique products to try out?

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">So when I picked up the Clinique Hi Lash, Bye Lash set as well as the Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm, it also came with this huge Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes & Lips! So I've been trying to put a dent in the huge bottle and try it out for you. What you can't see in the photo is that the Take The Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes & Lips is a bi-phase product, or as Clinique like to call it a "two-way formula", which aren't always my favourite, but I didn't let this put me off.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Clinique describe their Makeup Remover as a "unique, two-way formula that loosens the grip, then speeds the departure of the most persistent, eye makeups, mascara and lipsticks". Clinique promises that their Makeup Remover "works on all skin types" and is "suitable for contact lens wearers" something I know can be something people look for in a makeup remover that claims to be specific for eye makeup... To use, Clinique tells you to simply "shake well", "saturate [a] cotton ball", "sweep on, wipe off" and "rinse with water before reapplying makeup"... Simple enough for a makeup remover, but why am I rinsing with water before reapplying makeup (www.clinique.co.uk)?

I really didn't understand why I'd need to rinse my face after using this, but it wouldn't make a difference to me because I only really use my micellar type makeup removers as a second cleanse after washing my face before I do my skincare routine before I get into bed. The first time I used this I was also struck by the lid, will someone explain to me why it reminds me so much like a child lock on a medicine bottle? Anyway, I shook it up really well to make sure it was all mixed up, saturated my cotton pad and went to work. My face was left greasy as hell; but I can't really say that any leftover makeup was removed, which usually I end up removing some leftover mascara and foundation from the edge of my face. My face was literally squeaking and had a film on so much that I just wanted to go wash my face again, but for you guys and for the sake of reviewing this I stuck it out. Ugh, Moisture Surge, you're the last hope I have for Clinique's skin care...

Will I continue to use Clinique's Take The Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes & Lips? I really can't bring myself to reach for this again. I've used it twice; the second time I went to shake this up it leaked from the lid which was quite secure and I ended up with it all over my room, so as you can imagine I really wasn't impressed. I also really, really don't like the greasy film it leaves to my face.

Will I repurchase Clinique's Take The Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes & Lips? For £17.50 I most definitely will not be, and I'll happily be skipping down to Boots for less than £5 and my face will actually feel clean.

Would I recommend Clinique's Take The Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes & Lips? If you like a greasy face, this one will be for you. If you're not 100% sure if you've removed your makeup, then this one is for you. Otherwise, just stay away from this. Clinique, what are you doing.

Overall score out of 5? A 1? The shade of purple on the packaging is nice? What am I actually meant to score this product on? If I could justify a score of 0 or a negative score I actually really would right now. This product did nothing for my cleansing routine and just left my skin a greasy mess...

The last thing I needed was another setting spray...

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
Let's face it MAC, you got me well and truly with the Prep + Prime Fix+ Pinklite, how beautiful did your promo shots look? But then how far did you fall flat, Instagram posts made Pinklite look just like any other Fix+ of yours when Shannon told me she was wearing it to work and I couldn't tell at all, and just how ridiculous does Pinklite actually sound? So I reached for Fix+ Matte instead, let's see how well you can work for an oily girl like me...
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">If anyone is going to put you through your paces when it comes to mattifying it's going to be me; I use a mattifying serum, and I powder like there is no tomorrow... Believe me, I've been an oily girl for years, I've worked out how to work with my oil. MAC described their Fix+ Mattifying Mist as a "lightweight mattifying spray that refreshes skin while instantly controlling shine and oil... without disturbing make up". What sets it aside from other setting sprays though? Well, MAC's Fix+ Mattifying Mist "contains powders, silica and other oil-absorbing agents to help set make up, rebalance and mattifying skin" (www.debenhams.com).
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
I've actually been reaching for MAC's Fix+ Mattifying Mist every single day since I finished my Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist, and I've barely made a dent in this. It really does instantly set my makeup and control the shine to my face, you can almost feel the oil being kept at bay but my face doesn't feel dry or heavy. I use this while I'm at work and at the end of a 12-hour shift, I'm not a shiny, sweaty mess (even in the crazy weather we had) so it's definitely doing something right! I think this might find a permanent place alongside my De-Slick from Urban Decay...

I've tried the foundation, so let's try the setting powder...

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Naturally, when I picked up the Lock-It Liquid Foundation, it was only right that I picked up the Lock-It Setting Powder and tried that out alongside it. I'd like to give you a really good reason as to why I picked up the mini size, but honestly, it was the only option I had. The packaging I am living for with this setting powder, and I live for the fact that I can reseal this powder, so with it being loose, I'm not opening up the packing to a little cloud of powder every single time.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Kat Von D describe the Lock-It Setting Powder as "silky [and] non-drying" that gives a "velvety-matte, selfie-ready finish" thanks to their amazing "Micro-Blurring Technology" which works "to softly diffuse pores". Kat Von D also promise that the Lock-It Setting Powder is a "universal translucent shade [that] is truly undetectable on all skin tones" without adding "chalkiness or... texture" (www.debenhams.com).

After trying out the Laura Mercier Loose Powder back in December I was really excited when I saw that just like that, the Kat Von D Setting Powder also came with a little puff. However, unlike the Laura Mercier puff that was velour, the Kat Von D one is almost plastic and incredibly cheap? Something that made me question the price instantly. I instantly couldn't use the puff and had to apply the setting powder with a brush, which makes it a bit more difficult to apply as it then flies everywhere and can't be pressed into the skin as I'd like. Although, let's not beat it while it's already down. This powder still works like magic, it sets my foundation really nicely, my pores definitely looked diffused and my skin did have a velvet look finish to it. My skin didn't feel dry throughout the day, but I try to avoid touching my face so I can't comment on the silky feel. On me, it was truly undetectable and I'd be really interested to see if this was true for other skin tones.

Will I continue to use Kat Von D's Lock-It Setting Powder? I don't reach for this on a daily basis, purely because applying it is a little bit of a nightmare. I do reach for it on those days where I'm playing around with makeup a bit more and want a more finished look to my face, however. I don't travel with this though, I'm not the type of person who can leave my hotel room covered in a little cloud of setting powder.

Will I repurchase Kat Von D's Lock-It Setting Powder? As much as I like the finish it provides to my makeup, I will not be repurchasing this powder. Although the mini size is only £10; I really hate the puff that comes with this, and apply it with anything else can be a little bit difficult. So it's just not worth the trouble for me, but the Blotting Powder hasn't been ruled out for me!

Would I recommend Kat Von D's Lock-It Setting Powder? I personally wouldn't, the point of a powder like this is being able to use the puff to press it into the skin. For me the texture of the puff is cheap, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, which for a brand like Kat Von D is really disappointing.

Overall score out of 5? A 3. The powder itself is great, it sets my makeup beautifully, the finish it gives to my face is also beautiful and my skin doesn't feel dried out. However, applying it is where the problem lies; the supplied puff if cheap and feels like plastic, meaning that a brush needs to be used but that creates a little cloud of powder. A very first world problem, I'm aware.

It's a cleansing balm, surely it's exactly the same as all the others?

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I'm playing around with makeup a lot more lately; I have a lot of new eyeshadow palettes, so currently, all of the colours are going onto my eyeballs. So I need to make sure that my makeup is being removed properly. For years I've been using the Cleansing Butter from The Body Shop, but I've heard people raving about the Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm from Clinique so I thought I'd try it out while I had the chance, and see if for over double the price how much better it was meant to be.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Clinique's Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm works just like any other cleansing balm. Clinique promises that their Cleansing Balm "transforms from a solid balm to a silky, fluid oil upon application". Clinique promise that their Cleansing Balm "cleanses thoroughly", it even claims to "dissolves stubborn eye and face makeups" and "rinses off completely". Quite simple right? All while Clinique promise that their Cleansing Balm is "non-greasy" and "non-drying" (www.clinique.co.uk).

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">It's fair to say that my eyes are really taking a beating lately, I wear two mascaras on a daily basis, one of which can be really tough to remove and I can't remove with my micellar water alone. I wear a full coverage foundation on most days, along with the rest of my face... You're getting the picture right? So Clinique promises that their Cleansing Balm transforms from a solid balm into a fluid oil upon application, which it does quite quickly. As soon as I start massaging this onto my face it does break down into that oil quite quickly. It does rinse off quickly, and I'd agree that it's non-greasy and non-drying; my face wasn't screaming at me during the night when I took my makeup off. However, does it remove that stubborn makeup? Well, I'm still waking up with slight panda eyes from my mascara and if I rub my eyes after taking my makeup off nine times out of ten I come away with mascara on my hands.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

Will I continue to use Clinique's Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm? I'm currently reaching for this most nights to take my makeup off most nights, purely because I'm almost finished it, and I can't throw away a half used product. However, I do find myself having to double cleanse after using this Cleansing Balm.

Will I repurchase Clinique's Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm? I don't think I will. For £24 it doesn't remove my makeup to the standard I'd expect, and if I'm being honest I can't see anything different than it does to my Cleansing Butter from The Body Shop at just £10.

Would I recommend Clinique's Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm? I actually wouldn't. I've been using the Cleansing Butter from The Body Shop for years, and I only ever heard good things about this Cleansing Balm, however, it didn't actually perform any better and it's over double the price.

Overall score out of 5? A 2. It dissolved into an oil really quickly, and it wasn't drying or greasy on my skin. However, it really fell at the hurdle of my stubborn mascara. I'm left having to double cleanse, and having to battle with panda eyes in the morning; always an attractive look.

When you buy a product to make your life a little easier, does it actually work?

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
Like every other blogger in the country, Pixi's Glow Tonic is a staple in my skincare routine, but let's face it, it's not the easiest product to travel with. In fact, back in December when Ryan and me went over to Barcelona it was my Glow Tonic that leaked all over my suitcase, and it was then that I decided that I really needed to try out the Glow Tonic To-Go Pads and see what they were all about.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Let's face it, I'm travelling to Ryan's every other week as well, so surely they could only make my life easier anyway right? Quite simply, the Glow Tonic To-Go Pads from Pixi are "pre-soaked pads" (pixibeauty.co.uk) in the famous Glow Tonic. Just use them in the same way you'd use your glow tonic, simple right?

I've been using these for the past few months while I've been travelling to and from Ryan's, and if I'm being honest... They just don't give me the feeling to my skin that my normal Glow Tonic gives me, and I'm left feeling like something is missing from my routine. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't say my skin has got any worse so they're obviously doing the same job, but my skin just doesn't feel the same. Definitely, think about them if you have to travel around a lot!

I have such a love-hate relationship with Benefit mascaras, so why do I keep going back for more?

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I've only heard good things good things about the BAGgal Bang! mascara from Benefit, even though I really don't have a good history with Benefit mascaras. I put aside the past sorry attempts and decided that BAGgal Bang! would really be the one to change my mind...

So if you're remotely into makeup you'll be aware there has been some space talk surrounding the BAGgal Bang! mascara, but let's actually look at what Benefit promise us about this mascara. BADgal Bang! promises to be a "36-hour full-blast volumising mascara" that "creates massive volume without weighing down lashes". Remember that space talk? This is where this comes in to play... Benefit has created a "gravity-defying formula [that] contains aero-particles, one of the lightest known materials". BADgal Bang! "layers easily for bigger... impact" and "its custom big Slimpact! brush is streamlined to reach root-to-tip, corner-to-corner, upper & lower lashes". All of this, and it claims to contain "ProVitamin B5" for "thickness and strength" and promises to be "smudge-proof [and] water-resistant" (www.benefitcosmetics.com). What more is needed in a mascara?

Lately, I've been having some really weird sensations with my lashes, and I've been struggling with my lashes making my eyes feeling really heavy. I did find that BADgal Bang! definitely didn't weigh down my lashes, and I'd definitely say that the weightless claim is true. However, it didn't give me any volume... It gave me some amazing length, but not an inch of volume. I wiggled this brush in all directions and I've seen so many people going crazy over this mascara and the volume it gave them but for me, I didn't get anything. My lashes held all day and didn't drop, but I did find that it transferred really quickly onto my brow bone and under my eyes. Naturally I put it to the test on a 12 hour shift; starting work at 8am, by 10am I was looking like a racoon and not only did I have mascara under my eyes I had it on the tops of my cheeks, which isn't a good look and really isn't a mascara I'll be reaching for in this crazy heat! So, I'm going to go out on a whim and say that I don't quite believe the smudge-proof and water-resistant claims.

Will I continue to use Benefit's BADgal BANG! Mascara? I'm reaching for it on those days when I want my lashes to look longer, however, I'm mixing it in with my usual mascara. In this heat, I'm not reaching for it because I don't want it half way my face. Also, I kind of want to use it up rather than just get rid.

Will I repurchase Benefit's BADgal BANG! Mascara? I don't think I will. I like that it doesn't weigh down my lashes, it holds the length throughout the day, but it smudges and flakes like a bitch and it does not live up to its volumising claims at all, and for its price tag I'm not overly impressed.

Would I recommend Benefit's BADgal BANG! Mascara? If you're looking for a mascara that will lengthen your lashes without weighing them down, then this might be for you. If you're a person who mascaras don't smudge and run on, then this might be for you. However, if you're looking for volume, this isn't for you.

Overall score out of 5? A 3. It didn't live up to it's biggest claim, and it smudged all over my face like a bitch; which for its price tag is pretty unforgivable. Okay, so it doesn't weigh my lashes down and it does hold the length that it gives to my lashes, but is that enough? No. And can that really change my mind on Benefit now? Probably not.

In this insane heat, this little pot of goodness is making my life so much easier...

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
You all know my love affair with The Body Shop by now, let's cut past that. When they announced their new body yoghurts I was really interested, and when I heard that they were fast absorbing, I knew I'd be buying so many of them.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Let's face it, moisturising is a chore and the longer a task takes me the more I'm going to skip it; I'm pretty sure the skin to my legs suffers no end because I skip on moisturising so much. I did use the Vaseline spray and go for a while, but even that remained sticky for a little bit so I still gave up after a while.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">The Body Shop promise that the new Body Yoghurts are "lightweight formula[s]... absorbs instantly and provides up to 48 hours of moisture", you simple "apply to damp skin straight after showering for skin that feels smoother and never sticky" and job done (www.thebodyshop.com)! I personally went for the Almond Milk for my first body yoghurt, because I am in love with any almond from The Body Yoghurt, but I have my eyes on all the others trust me!

So I actually follow instructions with this one and apply it my legs fresh out of the shower; which is very rare for me! My legs appear to be loving me for it, and I've had them out loads in this crazy heatwave so thank you for the confidence there Body Shop! I'm also applying a little bit of this in the morning if my legs have had a little bit too much and feel a little over dry, and you really can apply this, get dressed and go... They're not lying I promise!

I so wanted you to be good, but you just fell a little bit short... Then I tried you again, and I changed my mind?

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I have been lusting over the Kat Von D Lock-It Liquid Foundation since it became available in this country; my local Debenhams doesn't have a Kat Von D counter, and I'm always wearing makeup when I pop into the Debenhams in Leeds, so I can never really be colour tested. I've always heard mixed reviews about this foundation too, so this also delayed me trying out the Lock-It Foundation, but then the Debenhams sale hit I just took the plunge, guessed my shade entirely and bought myself a bottle of the Lock-It Foundation.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Kat Von D claims that the Lock-It Liquid Foundation is "creamy and pigmented", "with one pump it will even out discolouration, stop shine and hide blemishes, offering amazing coverage" and promises that you can "go a full 24 hours without re-applying", and promises that "it will stay flawless, fade-free and transfer-proof" (<span style="font-family: "times";">www.katvondbeauty.com). So what better time to put a new foundation to the test than right now, when the UK is experiencing a crazy heatwave?

As I said, I've never been able to be colour tested for the Lock-It Foundation, and I was torn between 41 and 42 Light but in the end, I went for 41 Light and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't the neutral undertone that totally sold it for me. My very first thought of this foundation was something along the lines of "Jesus, I've finally found a foundation that's actually too light for me" but it matches my neck so perfectly; when I apply the rest of my makeup, add some colour back into my face with some blusher, add some definition to my eyes with some eye makeup and some colour it actually looks really natural.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">So let's look into those claims. The pump on this bottle is one of the best I've ever used, it's consistent and it always provides me with an equal amount. The formula of the Lock-It foundation is definitely creamy and there is no denying that it's pigmented and that one pump definitely provides you with some insane coverage. One pump definitely goes a really long way. Now, did it go a whole 24 hours staying flawless, without fading, transferring and without needing to be reapplied? Well, in this crazy heatwave, the short answer is no. I'm so glad I didn't test this out when I was out in public because I immediately felt this start to break down and run down my face as soon as the sun and heat hit my face.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">A lot of reviews state that this foundation can be very drying; when I initially applied this with a foundation brush I found this and I also found that it applied super streaky and looked like a hot mess. However, when I applied it with my Real Techniques sponge it applied so much better, worked a hell of a lot better and didn't become dry throughout the day.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

Will I continue to use Kat Von D's Lock-It Liquid Foundation? I can't wear this foundation without having to do a full face; I have to go full eye makeup, blush and highlight to make it look normal on my skin tone so although I don't reach for it daily it is my go to on a night out.

Will I repurchase Kat Von D's Lock-It Liquid Foundation? I'm not currently sure, for £27 I'm not currently sure if a foundation that I only reach for when I'm doing a full glam full face will be jumping back into my basket anytime soon...

Would I recommend Kat Von D's Lock-It Liquid Foundation? Again, I'm not currently sure. It matches my neck perfectly, but I have to go full face to make it look normal for my skin tone which is crazy. I had to really play around with the application to make it work and it took me a couple of times to like it. Ugh, I really wanted to immediately like it!

Overall score out of 5? A 3. I didn't immediately fall in love with this foundation and I had to play around with it a couple of times to get to the stage where I eventually liked it. Even though it matches my neck perfectly, it makes me look so pale I have to go full glam full face to make it look normal which surely can't be right? To say it's meant to stop shine, it broke down pretty quickly in this insane heat that the UK is having lately, so that's given me something to think about... Just give me a few nights out so I can get my money's worth please.

Sometimes, the problem with being a blogger, or just genuinely being into skincare and makeup is that when you're talking about the products that you want to try your friends will then send you links to kits to help save you money... Cue Shannon sending me the link to the Mario Badescu 50th Anniversary Set after me mentioning that I wanted to try out the famous Drying Lotion.

So included in the 50th Anniversary Set is the Silver Powder; which is meant to "help draw out stubborn blackheads", "absorb excess oil and impurities" and be perfect for "oily [and] congested skin". Using a damp cotton pad to create a paste and press this onto the T-Zone, before removing after 10 minutes with a toner; you're meant to reveal "visibly clearer, healthier looking skin"... I personally don't, I just find it draws out more blackheads which I then struggle even more with. Also, the paste is really hard to work with, you have to really drag it onto the skin and as soon as any part of it dries the powder just flies off everywhere again, and it's just a nightmare to work with... This one isn't for me.

We then have the Flower and Tonic Mask; a "gentle, purifying mask" that "absorbs excess oil and shine" and is "infused with antioxidant-rich Gardenia Extract". A "deep-cleaning mask" ideal for "combination, oily or sensitive skin" that "is gentle on the skin... without leaving skin feeling dry or tight". I rarely reach for face masks designed for oily skin these days due to my skin often being left feeling tight, and I'm so over that feeling now, but this really did leave my skin feeling refreshed and only a thin layer was needed.

The Enzyme Cleansing Gel has very quickly become one of my daily favourites, a face wash ideal for "all skin" that has an "AHA-enhanced formula" that "deep cleans and removes excess shine". I still find it amazing that a face wash that is totally smooth can "gently exfoliate all at once", chemical peel territory is still very new to me. Although it promises to "dissolve away makeup, oil and impurities", the Enzyme Cleansing Gel has fitted into my morning skincare routine to help me combat that oil I tend to see more in the morning as it's incredibly gentle on the skin and that grapefruit extract is great at waking you up.

Now the Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater was the product I had no idea how I'd fit into my routine. It's said it "revitalizes with dewy radiance" and "boosts moisture and glow", but then you're also told that you can use it on your hair as well if needed? I'm not a massive user of sprays, I'm not in search of a dewy finish... So instead I've managed to fit this into my routine just before bed to give my skin that much-needed moisture boost!

Okay, why you're here... The famous Drying Lotion; the treatment that dries up spots overnight! I'm not going to give you a step by step review of the Drying Lotion, everyone knows not to shake it up, you dab it on your spots, go to sleep and et voila! Some nights I've been using so much you'd genuinely think I had chicken pox or something. This little bad boy even works on my pesky under the surface monsters that never come to head, however, I've also found that I have to use this sparingly as if I use this every single night then I end up drying my skin out and then I'm working with flaky skin also...Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03121712911476533604noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2606774851210515191.post-76649186297227367872018-06-15T20:00:00.000+01:002018-06-15T20:00:15.595+01:00Friday First | Estee Lauder Double Wear

I finally dipped my toe into the Double Wear pool and ended up taking the entire plunge...

I wish I knew what took me so long to actually try Double Wear from Estée Lauder; it's always been the single most recommended foundation whenever I've asked for foundations that are good for combination skin. I was colour tested back in December, but I was colour tested in the Water Fresh formula rather than the Stay In Place formula, meaning that the shade originally given to me was slightly off, but we fixed all that and now here we are! Estée Lauder promise that Double Wear Stay In Place has "24-hour staying power" and stays "flawless all day". Estée Lauder promise that Double Wear "stays fresh and looks natural through heat, humidity and nonstop activity", all while feeling "lightweight... comfortable... and won't change colour, smudge, or come off on clothes" (www.esteelauder.co.uk). So with those huge claims, it makes sense to put it to the test during a really warm, and busy 12-hour shift right?

Being a nurse in a dementia nursing home I'm on my feet for the majority of the day, and in this current weather let's face it, my makeup doesn't look as fresh when I get home compared to how it did when I applied it in the morning. Double Wear has some pretty large claims, and a lot seem to be around it staying put and looking fresh, so it made sense to put it to the test during a 12-hour shift. I have to give it to Double Wear, it doesn't budge in the slightest. Usually, halfway through my shift I'm not looking my best, my makeup is starting to break down, and that oil is starting to creep through but for the last few days wearing Double Wear the oil has mainly been kept at bay and it's not really been that obvious. I haven't had to touch up my powder at all, and my makeup hasn't smudged onto my colour at all. I even found that I didn't have those telltale marks on my nose where I'd been wearing my glasses, so that's a definite winner for me!

Double Wear seems to be surrounded with controversy about how best to apply it; it is best with a sponge or best with a brush? So naturally, I went ahead and tried both. Only fair right? Honestly, I find that it applies really nicely both ways and I don't have a prefered way! I wanted to get this review up quickly so I don't have any selfies in this review, but I'll put up some comparison photos on my Instagram over the weekend so keep your eyes peeled for those! I do find that Double Wear does have quite a tacky texture when initially applied, but once I've set it with powder that instantly disappears and I'm good for the entire day.

Will I continue to use Estée Lauder's Double Wear? I'm currently wearing this on a daily basis, and I'm still working my way through the little sample that they give you! I'll definitely be cracking open the bottle that I purchased and I'm very glad I finally took the plunge into the Double Wear pool.

Will I repurchase Estée Lauder's Double Wear? I think I will, but let's face it that's not going to be for a very long time yet. I appreciate that for some £33 for a bottle of foundation might be ridiculous, but for how long this will last it's definitely going to be worth every penny.

Would I recommend Estée Lauder's Double Wear? Definitely, it's the first foundation I've tried that truly doesn't break down, oxidize or smudge everywhere. The tiniest bit went a really long way and this foundation lasted a whole 12-hour shift without even blinking.

Overall score out of 5? A 4. Even though I've been colour matched it's still slightly on the pink side, but it's only noticeable on my neck, and I think if I lightened it then I'd totally throw the colour off believe it or not. The finish is perfect and the finish of this foundation is everything I've ever dreamed of.

I've all but finished this product now, that's how long it's taken me to write up this review...

I own a few too many setting sprays, I always seem to pick a new one up when I'm out shopping, but I'm super faithful to my Urban Decay. I'm now on a setting spray ban, and determined to actually use up all my other setting sprays and try them all out before I buy a replacement for my Urban Decay; so here I am, kicking things off with the Makeup Fixing Mist from Pixi. Pixi state that their Makeup Fixing Mist "prolongs makeup wear... keeps it from moving, melting, and settling into fine lines or pores", contains "rose water and green tea... [that] comforts, protects and balances skin" and somehow "adds a soft-focus finish". As well as setting your makeup, Pixi claim that their Makeup Fixing Mist can "refresh makeup during the day", and can somehow "correct over-powdering" (pixibeauty.co.uk), sounds like the wonder product doesn't it?

I grabbed the Makeup Fixing Mist when I grabbed the Fast Flash Facial! and if I'm honest, it's purely because I saw it contained rose water; what rose has done for my skin lately has been amazing. I've tried a few different setting sprays, and for me, the one thing that can definitely make or break it for me is the spray. I find the Makeup Fixing Mist from Pixi has a soft spray, but it's insanely strong at the same time. Basically, spray this too close to your face and you'll just be a wet mess, so I do have to hold it as far away as possible while holding my head back in some weird fashion.

The soft focus finish claim is something I totally believe in; I always find that my makeup had that extra flawless edge to it when I'm using this setting spray which is something I live for. I wouldn't say that my makeup is prolonged any more than it is when I'm using my beloved Urban Decay, however, I will honestly stand by that claim of my makeup not moving, melting, or settling. When I'm using the Makeup Fixing Mist my makeup will hold for ages, and then all of a sudden I'll notice it breaking around my nose, and I'd say I only ever notice my makeup fading rather than anything else when using this. I can't comment on the use of it to refresh my makeup; I'm an oily girl and I'm often re-powdering rather than refreshing. Also, I have no idea if I've ever overpowerded in my life, or how on earth this would fix it... But there you go.

Will I continue to use Pixi's Makeup Fixing Mist? By the time I'm finally writing up this review, I've basically finished this bottle. But I've used it on nearly a daily basis, and this has lasted me a good few months to be fair.

Will I repurchase Pixi's Makeup Fixing Mist? I actually think I will, and I think it will earn a place next to my beloved Urban Decay Setting Spray in my daily makeup stash. I love the look it adds to my makeup, the subtle scent, and the way it feels on my skin.

Would I recommend Pixi's Makeup Fixing Mist? I find setting sprays are a very personal thing and can be very difficult to recommend. However, if you're after a setting spray that isn't heavy and you'll definitely forget that you have on then definitely give this a go. Overlook the strong, yet soft spray and give it a go.

Overall score out of 5? A 3.5. The look the Makeup Fixing Mist adds to my makeup on a daily basis is 100% worth it, along with the subtle scent and the cooling factor that it seems to have. However, I'm not all for the spray action on this bottle; I love how soft the spray is, but it will also soak my face to the point that I have to stretch both my arm and my neck to get an even spray when using this.

If you haven't heard of Old English Co. lately, then where have you been? Let's face it, currently everyone is talking all about their enamel pins; which I'm 100% loving and will talk you through my favourites, but I'm also loving their simplistic designs that are currently making me want to totally redecorate my room! Before I jump into the bits I'm loving, don't forget that Old English Co. currently has a competition running that gives you a chance to win three of their beautiful pins, you can enter here!

So, firstly I've picked out some Father's Day cards because I realised yesterday just how soon it is and I'm quite unprepared... But, these cards are definitely my sense of humour and something my Dad would definitely appreciate. Also, can we please talk about the other cards that Old English Co. create? I know a couple of people expecting a baby this year, and I think I'll definitely be reaching for these cards when the tiny people arrive! Do I need to explain my love for the notebooks, do I really need an excuse for another notebook?

I think it's very obvious that I'm currently loving pins, but I'm really on the hunt for some that aren't Disney orientated and these are right up my street! I think my love for pizza is definitely showing through, but can we talk about that magic hat one, please? Now, these prints are 100% giving me all the inspiration to totally redecorate and rethink my whole room. I have the biggest love for London, and this London print is so different to anything I've ever seen it'll definitely have pride of place on my feature wall.

So let's start to relax a little! A cuppa is where my heart truly lies, and that mug and biscuit coaster set are giving me life. I also love a cheeky cocktail though, so I'd definitely have these scattered around my house. I also love nothing more than a slogan, and a slogan on a tea towel is a guilty pleasure of mine, and that Happily Ever After towel is definitely something I'd give as a gift! Also, if anyone would like to buy me that Messy Hair, Don't Care pillow case then I'll definitely never leave my bed again.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I hope you're all as surprised as I am, I picked this product up last week and I've already tried it out and got this written for you. How on the ball am I for once?

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">NIP+FAB claim that their foundation mixer "helps you create your own custom foundation shade", "helping to prevent you from looking too dark or orange and helps neutralise yellowness in the skin tone". You simply "add a small drop to your usual foundation" (www.nipandfab.com). Couldn't be more simple then right?
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I took a massive risk at the weekend when travelling to Ryan's and only threw this into my makeup bag, leaving my trusty lightening drops from The Body Shop at home. Now, yellow tones in my skin are not something I have to worry about as I actually pull very pink, but I can suffer from looking too dark and too orange. I did instantly find that one drop as promised didn't really do much to my foundation, but then also I'm not really sure what a drop is. NIP+FAB have put this into a bottle with a nozzle, and the formula is quite thick so you have to squeeze the bottle... You see where I'm going right? I know I'll never use the same amount from one use to the next.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Let's talk about that thick formula. There are actually barely any reviews out there of this so I had no idea what to expect. The Body Shop lightening drops are really thin and don't affect my foundation, they just mix in and I carry on. The Light Mixer from NIP+FAB definitely changed the formula to my foundation, in fact, it made it a lot thicker, very sticky and very hard to work with. I found that blending my foundation was a chore, and goodbye building up my foundation while using this. If I tried to build my foundation there was an obvious line around the second layer, which took too much blending, and lord this grabs at every dry bit of skin going. I had random dry patches on my face that I didn't even know I had before doing my makeup, and I heavily moisturised.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Will I continue to use the NIP+FAB Foundation Light Mixer? I'm actually really torn on this. It lightens my foundation perfectly, and I'd say better than my lightening drops from The Body Shop as my foundation actually matched my neck for the first time ever. But let's face it, I can't control the product use and it made my foundation too sticky to work with.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Will I repurchase the NIP+FAB Foundation Light Mixer? Currently, no. At full price, I'm looking at £12.95 and for a product, I have one too many issues with I can't justify that price.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Would I recommend the NIP+FAB Foundation Light Mixer? If you have flawless skin without an ounce of dryness then yes, you'll be fine. If you need minimal coverage and don't need to build your foundation, you'll be fine. If you have even a flake of dry skin or want to build your foundation? Just run. Far, far away.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Overall score out of 5? A 2. I loved how well this lightening my foundation, and how for the first time in my life my foundation matched my neck, but that's where it stops. I cannot control how much product I'll use each time due to having to squeeze it out. My foundation became so sticky that blending become a chore and I couldn't even build my foundation. I don't even feel bad about this review, I feel bad for the people who witnessed my foundation this weekend.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">As someone who has struggled to sleep for the last three years, and is actually on medication to help them sleep, why has it taken me so long to even look at this highly rated sleep spray?<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

I've tried many different things to help me sleep, in fact, I've talked about my struggles on here a few times in the past. Every time you look into getting a better nights sleep you can guarantee you'll at some point be recommended the thisworks Deep Sleep Pillow Spray. Now I've been using the Avon Lavender Spray for a long time, but I've always been told that the Deep Sleep Pillow Spray from thisworks is very different and somehow more subtle.

thisworks claim that their Deep Sleep Pillow Spray is "clinically proven to help you fall asleep faster and wake feeling more refreshed" thanks to its "superblend" of "lavender, vetivert and camomile". Not much to go off admittedly, but with huge claims of "97% [of people saying they] slept better" I'm willing to give this a go (www.thisworks.com). Now, I picked up my thisworks Deep Sleep Pillow Spray off BeautyBay and along came this little thisworks sleep plus+ hair elixir, and I'm not going to say no to trying a freebie! The sleep plus+ hair elixir is described as "a 2-in-1 overnight problem solver to promote better sleep and boost hair vitality". Made up of "pure essential oils of Lavender, Vetivert and Camomile" the sleep plus+ hair elixir works to "ensure a long night's sleep, whilst a concentrated blend of botanical oils work to reclaim your hairs manageability, nourishing and supporting healthy hair growth", and to unlock all that you simply "mist... through mid-lengths and dry ends" (www.thisworks.com)!

Lets cut to the chase, did I sleep any better? I have to admit, I definitely feel asleep quicker and I definitely woke up feeling more refreshed, and like I'd actually had some sleep the night before. I can't say it didn't stop me waking up loads during the night, but just falling asleep quicker gave me a much-needed boost. I don't use this every single night, but on the nights where I'm really struggling this is now next to my bed so I can easily mist this everywhere.

Now, the sleep plus+ hair elixir. I'll hold my hands up, I was instantly sceptical and didn't really see what this was going to add to my hair or sleep routine. Now, I wasn't going to pass up this sample, so I happily sprayed this into my hair and forgot about it till morning. The sleep plus+ hair elixir is insanely subtle, to the point that I was questioning if I'd actually put it in my hair, but it still made a very slight difference to my sleep. I tried this on the night where I wasn't testing the Deep Sleep Pillow Spray and I still found myself falling asleep quicker, and my hair felt wonderful when I woke up!

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Will I continue to use the thisworks Deep Sleep Pillow Spray and sleep plus+ hair elixir?<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> I don't reach for the Pillow Spray every single night, I don't want to become reliant on it. It does live next to my bed though, so on those really bad nights I can grab it and mist it everywhere. Same with the hair elixir, I reach for it on those days where I've not slept well for a few nights, and I also feel my hair needs a little extra something.
Will I repurchase the thisworks Deep Sleep Pillow Spray and sleep plus+ hair elixir? I'll definitely be picking up another Pillow Spray, for £18 I think I'd be an idiot not too. I feel it's going to last me a while so I'll definitely get my money worth out of it. The hair elixir is £25 so it's something I need to think about and see just how much of a difference it makes to my hair.
Would I recommend the thisworks Deep Sleep Pillow Spray and sleep plus+ hair elixir? If you suffer from sleep anxiety around falling asleep, or you struggle to fall asleep like I do then I'd definitely recommend you trying out the thisworks Deep Sleep collection. I have a few more products that I'm planning to pick up and try out because I'm already loving both of these so much.
Overall score out of 5? A4. The Pillow Spray has definitely made it easier for me to fall asleep quicker, and I actually feel like I've had sleep when I use the spray. The hair elixir has made a difference to my hair, and definitely does help me to fall asleep quicker.
