Beauty | Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm

Colour Swatched On Hand.
Bare Lips For Reference
Such A Simple 'My Lips But Better Shade'

Is it classed as arriving to the party late when you finally buy yourself that one piece of makeup that you've been lusting over since it was launched?

I finally picked up one of the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms in the shade Elusive, 205. This shade just screamed out to me as a complete 'my lips but better shade' which I can wear on a daily basis, and it truly is. It's such a muted pink that adds that pop of colour but it's easily wearable with a day look.

The chubby crayon stick is something I've been wanting to try for a while as they are super easy to apply, which this does not let me down on. It's not super pretty in the pictures above as I had to swatch it for my mum when I got home the day I bought it, oops.

A lot of people expect this product to be drying on the lips as it's a Matte Balm, but the balm part really comes into play with this product and it keeps the lips feeling silky soft. Being matte I do need to make sure that my lips are exfoliated regularly.

Another bonus of this item is that it comes clean off with my Garnier Micellar Water, but that is another blog post coming soon!

Also, bonus points for the Colorburst having a mint scent!

Beauty | Garnier Ultimate Blends Shampoo Review

A few weeks ago I was given a bottle of the Garnier Ultimate Blends Shampoo which gave me a chance to try a product I'd been wanting to try for a while, there a few versions of both the shampoos and conditioners for different hair types and I was given the 'Marvellous Transformer Shampoo' designed for dry and lifeless hair.

Now this shampoo is enriched with both Argan and Camellia oils, Argan being an oil I love for my skin and I have a hair mask which I love using.

I hated this shampoo. My plan was to use this shampoo for a week to give it a fair chance however I've used it three times and I just couldn't do it.

Despite my hair feeling soft and looking better when it had been styled I hated how it made my hair feel when I was in the shower. My hair felt like it hadn't been rinsed no matter how long I rinsed it for, and I think my hair looked better when styled due to another hair product I was using instead of this shampoo.

I try to avoid using oil on my hair as I suffer with greasiness although my hair does have a tendency to become dry, especially during the winter months we're starting to enter, but I hoped that being a shampoo enriched with oils it wouldn't leave that greasy feeling that can be associated with hair oils.

I'm so disappointed that I don't like this shampoo and I've heard so many great things about it otherwise and I know that so many people are loving it. However it's just a product that I can't get on with and I really hated how it made my hair feel, and therefore I would not be recommending it if anybody asked me about it.

Life | Autumn/Winter Wishlist.

So as I mentioned in my 'Dear September' post I'm wanting to change my style this Autumn/Winter, although I think it's unfair to say I want to change my style as I don't want to completely change it however I just want to update it and add a few staple pieces into my wardrobe and I have been searching the internet high and low for these wanted staples.

However, I know myself too well and if I find something similar in Primark, I will buy it. But without further ado, here is my Autumn/Winter wishlist.

This Autumn/Winter I really want to start wearing dresses with black tights and ankle boots with a huge chunky scarf because I think it is an adorable look.

Being black this dress would go perfectly with black tights and little black boots, I also love the print of this dress.

Red Aztec Print Crochet Trim Skater Dress, £8.
I love red, especially in Autum, and I think the crochet hem detail would look super cute against some tights as it just adds an extra layer.

Shell Pink Contrast Collar Heart Print Skater Dress, £10.
This isn't the typical colour dress I'd pick out for Autumn/Winter, but I think the black hearts and collar would help it to sit well on some black tights. I'd also be able to transition it through to Spring/Summer.

Not the colours for Autumn/Winter at all and I really don't know how I'd make it work, but I saw this dress and just fell in love with it for Spring/Summer. Give a girl a break!

I already have some little black ankle boots which is what I want to style up for Autumn/Winter, but I am completely loving the chunky boot look which is currently in style.

I would style these both up and down. I'd wear these with a dress and tights, I'd wear these with my skinny jeans. I'd wear these for a day shopping, for uni, or for a night out. I think the chunky boot is such a versatile look.

Just a variation on the chunky boot but with a much lower heel. I'm also in love with simple detailing on chunky boots, be it zips or buckles.

I already have some little ankle boots yes, but I fell in love with these. I loved the military boot look when that was in fashion a few years ago, and these boots kind of remind me of that look. These could be laced up loosely with either a dress or skinny jeans and they would still look ridiculously cute.

I'm a sucker for accessories, it's probably my biggest weakness after nail varnish.

So I have seen this bag floating around my Instagram like there is no tomorrow and I was in love with it then, however when Gracie did her blogpost on it I knew that I was right in thinking this would be the perfect bag for Autumn/Winter.

Yes I am that girl. I don't know what it is about these that I love, maybe it's because they remind me of my childhood and I can remember wearing these when I was younger. I have friends that wear them and I am seeing them all over the internet, my heart is crying out for me to own one again.

I can't say much about these. Yes I know they are stupidly similar to the packs that I picked up from Primark a few months ago, and yes I know I wear too many bracelets for my own good. Maybe it's the pastel colours that caught my eye.

So this is similar to the bobble hat that I picked up from New Look last year, which I love. Along with huge chunky scarves in Autumn/Winter I love a good bobble hat. I already have a few events lined up which I know I'll be wearing a bobble hat and a good scarf for.

I have finally found products for my skin that are working, and I've also started pampering myself a bit more.

I have watched so many videos on this product and I still can't give you a reason as to why I haven't picked this up yet. There is something about being able to use a product which is so kind to the skin which still removes makeup which really interests me.

Once again, no excuse for me being so late to the party with this product. I'm starting to pamper myself a lot more and boy have I wanted this product for years.

Couldn't quite chose between Sugar Scrub and Breakfast Club, both sound like the smell so amazing.

I've become more confident with my skin, and with that for me comes being more confident wearing makeup I wouldn't have worn before.

I already own a Rimmel Kate lipstick and it is my favourite lipstick that I own. I want a darker shade for Autumn/Winter so I thought why not a deep red.

Not a typical Aumtum/Winter shade, but I want to be able to wear more colour in the day. Read so many reviews and watched so many videos about these. Plus this looks like a cute 'my lips but better colour'.

I never think of going to Topshop for makeup products despite hearing so many positives. Just another 'my lips but better' shade.

I have wanted this product since they came out but I don't think I could ever find the right colour. I'm not sure what took me so long but once again I just think that the shade Sweet Tart could be another 'my lips but better shade'. Do we see a theme here?

Once again, not an Autumn/Winter shade at all but I have been searching for a nail varnish in this colour since I was about 13/14. The fact it's already a matte polish makes me happier to.

Seventeen Smoulder Gel Eyeliner, £3.99.
Not so much of a wishlist product but more of a I am completely in love with this product. I picked this up last October when I was going out for a Halloween night, and holy crap, for such a cheap product this stuff is great and it does not budge. I cannot wait to replace this product.

Okay so not stuff that I really need, but for some reason really want.

Complete love hate relationship with this game already. From game previews I cannot wait to play this game as it looks incredible. However I cannot own this game yet as there is still no release date for Mac, I'm not overly keen on the price tag, and as someone who has been with the Sims since day one I'm so upset that so many things are missing from The Sims 4.

Cannot explain this one, was looking through Accessories on New Look and found this. It's cute, it's pink, I want it.

Just like the lunch box, I can't explain this one. Saw it, wanted it also. Oops.

Paper Mate Inkjoy Pens Assorted x10, £3.49.
I'm a huge stationary junkie, and I love coloured pens. I use colours pens to differentiate between my uni notes. Once again, no real explanation.

Life | Long Distance Relationships

I know I've done a lot of 'Life' posts lately, however they just seem to be topics which are a lot more relevant at the minute. I had a 'Beauty' post all planned out and I'll probably get back to that soon, however I felt this post was something which is more relevant, especially as a lot of people I know are moving away to university soon and want to maintain relationships, so here a few tips thats I use to keep the relationship going strong!

A relationship with any amount of distance included is not easy let me just put that out there. A lot of people tell me that because my boyfriend only lives in a different city, not in a different country that it doesn't count as distance. I don't get to see my boyfriend as often as I would so I class us as being in a long distance relationship.

Make Your Phone Your Best Friend
Texts and phone calls will become your best friend. You don't get to wake up next to your significant other, but you do get to send them a really great good morning text for them to wake up to. You don't get to be excited with them in person, but you do get to ring them in an evening and give them a run down of your daily events and relive that excitement when you tell them. Another fantastic tip is to plan phone calls if you both have busy days, make sure that you make time to talk to them.

Make The Most Of Skype
Texts and phone calls only work so well, sometimes you need to see the person you're talking to. I've personally used Skype to cry to Ryan, be excited with Ryan, I've used Skype to almost fall asleep whilst talking to Ryan, hell I've even used Skype to ask him if I look okay in what I'm wearing before I go out. Use Skype to your advantage, it's free and it's nice to sometimes remind yourself what your significant others face looks like rather than just hearing a voice.

Plan To See Each Other
Talking on a daily basis helps a lot, however it is never the same as physically seeing someone. Make time to plan a weekend together and just enjoy actually being together. Do silly things, plan things, do nothing. Just enjoy having a small bit of time together.

Learn To Love The Time Apart
If distance has taught me one thing it's actually taught me to enjoy my own company and not worry about being on my own when I'm out with my friends. If you go out with your friends who are out as a couple, don't be upset and don't let it bother you, just enjoy them being together. I also think this picture summed up mine and Ryan's relationship perfectly as we only get to see each other on weekends.

Have Something Of Theirs
This might sound silly but I found that having something physical of Ryan's helps a lot. I have a few things of his but the first thing I ever stole was this Fall Out Boy top, it gives me something to cuddle up to while I sleep or while I'm upset and it allows me to feel a bit closer to him. It will never replace their own cuddles though, sorry!

Remember Why You're With Them
The final tip I can give is to remember why you're with that person in the first place. Distance can be tricky and it can become stressful, but if you remember why you got with that person in the first place and what you love about them it'll help your relationship remain strong.

Life | Dear September

(Picture taken from here)

Dear September,

I've never done this before but I think it might be something I start doing each month, maybe I can use these letters as a way for me to keep track of what I want to achieve each month.

You're the month in which I'm going to enter the last year of university, which terrifies me honestly because it feels like I'm suddenly going to have to have my whole life planned out, which I don't know if I'm ready for. I plan to take this in my stride and make the most of every moment.

I so far don't have a lot planned for you September, so I want to use you to catch up with old friends and make sure I keep my best friends incredibly close. I plan to have lots of catch ups with friends so a lot of coffee shops may be visited and many cakes may be eaten.

I'm going to use you to jump back onto my diet and exercise. Next month is a big month and I want to look good but I also think this might be a good way to relieve the stresses which are about to start.

I want to fall back in love with you September, I've got an idea in my mind of what I want to wear this autumn so I think we might be going shopping for a few staple pieces.

Basically you're a month that scares me September, I suddenly need to start thinking about my life as a whole but I want to fall back in love with you and have a great love affair. Lets just take baby steps whilst hand in hand together.

I look forward to our adventures,

Beka. xo
